Photographic Competition: "Health and Wellbeing"
We welcome photographic entries into the competition that capture what "health and wellbeing" means. Entries will be judged online by registrants to the Conference. Registrants will be asked to rank the entries according to their relevance to the theme and their visual impact, rather than technical quality alone. We will print and exhibit the ten top-scoring photos at the Conference. After the Conference the mounted photographs will be given to the successful exhibiting photographers. The entrant whose photograph receives the highest score will also receive a €100 gift voucher.
The competition is aimed at amateur photographers but is open to all. Copyright will remain with the photographer who will be asked to allow us to include a thumbnail of their successful photograph in the online proceedings of the Conference on the IPH website, the Healthy Ireland website and in socia media. Entrants to the competitition warrant that the photograph they submit has been taken by themselves, that it is their own and that as owner are fully entitled to use if for the purpose of the competition. Where the photo submitted to the competition contains any person or persons, the entrant must warrant that those persons have given their permission for the photograph to be used in the competition. The entrant should indemnify promoter for all liabilities, including legal costs, in relation to any action or complaint taken by any third party against promoter in relation to the entrant's photograph.
The vision of the public health framework, Healthy Ireland, in the Republic of Ireland is for "A Healthy Ireland, where everyone can enjoy physical and mental health and wellbeing to their full potential, where wellbeing is valued and supported at every level of society and is everyones responsibility". The vision of the public health framework, Making Life Better, is of a Northern Ireland where "All people are enabled and supported in achieving their full health and wellbeing potential". With these visions in mind, we welcome photographic entries that capture any aspect of "health and wellbeing" reflected in the two frameworks.
